Günther Thömmes is from Bitburg. He is a trained and studied brewer. After 20 years of travel-ling the world on the behalf of beer and breweries, he opened a little adventure brewery called „Bierzauberei“ near the beautiful Vienna Woods in 2010. He published several articles about beer and the history of brewing. In 2005 he published an amusing beer lexicon („Jetzt gibt es kein Bier, sondern Kölsch“) and in 2010 an illustrated book about the history of the Brunner Brewery („Die Geschichte der Brunner Brauerei 1790-1930“). In 2008 he made his debut as a novelist.
